Client Testimonial from Mrs Sherry Hawley, Derbyshire

What were your objectives when using NSJ Contractors and how well were they achieved when working with you?

“My objectives were to build a new house that not only fitted in with the village and complied with the Peak Park requirements. The house has more than reached my expectations the quality of the workmanship is exceptional and the workforce are a credit to NSJ. “

What did you find to be the 3 most significant benefits of working with NSJ Contractors ?

“The scheduling of work enabled me to make sure that all my responsibilities i.e the kitchen were available to be fitted when ready. The whole project was managed with a professional and friendly attitude and the quality of the build is stunning. To have one contractor that has their own electricians, joiners and plumbers and suppliers that they work with all the time ensures that no one is waiting for some unknown person to arrive. “

How would you describe NSJ Contractors to others?

“I had no knowledge of NSJ until they did a project next door to me and I found that the men were very considerate with regards to parking, deliveries and noise, their finished project next door made me feel confident that they would achieve the same standard for me. So I would say that NSJ are very competent, competitive and conscientious builders. They have a great deal of expertise when building in stone and men explained fully what was happening all the time”

What could NSJ have done differently to increase their standards of service and the quality of their work?

“There is nothing more NSJ could have done the standard of the build is exceptional as are the people working for them. I took out an NHBC insurance on the house and even their inspector commented on the quality of the build. It has also been praised by the local Peak Park inspector.”

CL600 On-door code changes can be made in seconds…

The CL600 locks are a heavy duty mechanical range that allows the code to be changed from the front via a key. Traditionally code changing on mechanical locks has required the lock to be removed from the door, the CL600 is the first mechanical lock where on door code changes can be made in seconds!

The locks can be used as the primary lock on most doors, particularly in high traffic situations. The CL600 lock range has varying functions available. The locks allow for various ways of managing entry by code, by key and by Code Free operation of the lever handle on the CL605, CL615 and CL625 models. Throwing the deadbolt of the CL620 and CL625 lock models will lock out the code users when appropriate.

A safety feature ensures that the inside lever handle will retract the deadbolt so avoiding accidentally locking a person in the room. The key can be used to retract the latchbolt and so may be issued for cleaning and security staff use.

The CL600 Lock Range is ideal for use in the home, school, office or hospital environments.

Unique on door code change

Quick Code Lock does not need removing from door to change code

Front cylinder change

Heavy duty Codelock

High number of code combinations – 8000 +

Full size lever handles

Code Free option available

Mortice lock and Mortice latch functions

PVD weather resistant, low maintenance finish

NSJ Contractors supply and install door finger guards in schools and other environments where children (or the elderly) could sustain injury from trapped fingers. We provide a range of finger guards, including sets that cover the rear hinge gap of the door for maximium protection.

Door Safety and Finger Protection

Door Finger Guards are used to prevent finger-trapping accidents in the gap between the hinged edge of a door and the door frame. Strips that cover this gap are referred to by various names including: Finger Guards; Finger Shields; Hinge Guards and Door Guards.

British Standards BS7036 (Part 4:7.1) recommends “the use of a finger defender that either fills the finger trap or minimises the gap so as not to create a finger trap”.

The range of finger guards that we supply and install takes into account other considerations, such as colours to match to decor, door construction materials, hinge type and draught proofing, DDA and fire protection requirements.

Over 30,000 children are injured in the UK as a result of trapping their fingers in doors – RoSPA. RoSPA recommends the provision of guards in schools, nurseries and indoor play areas as a sensible safety measure.

Young children and the elderly tend to be most at risk and if your premises fall within the scope of the HSW regulations then you could be deemed negligent if reasonable safety precautions, such as fitting afinger guard to a door, had not been taken and there was an accident.

The conversion and renovation of old buildings is a specialist area of building and construction.

Based on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park, NSJ Contractors have successfully undertaken projects that have involved the repair, renovation or restoration of historic and listed buildings throughout Derbyshire, Cheshire and the Staffordshire Moorlands

Disused barns and farm buildings are often in conservation areas. Not only do these buildings have to be sympathetically restored to ‘fit in’ with the area in which they are situated, but also sympathetically restored to provide suitable accommodation for the 21st century.

NSJ Contractors are specialists in the renovation and conversion of old and ancient buildings. We know how important it is that the finished renovation retains its original character, fulfills modern building regulations and provides a comfortable and efficient home.
